YourSpec Service Guide

The YourSpec Wiring Project Manager allows you to configure unique marking settings for every wire in your project.

Our wire marker uses a pulsed UV laser to create precise wire markings. See details below per wire type.

The marking is created when the laser interacts with titanium dioxide in the wire insulation - the laser changes the wire color while leaving the insulation fully intact. This is the optimal marking process that will result in the highest quality markings with the most readable contrast.
This marking process is compatible with multiple milspec and aerospace standards.

The laser works by etching the marking in the wire insulation. This will yield markings of highly readable contrast on most gauges and colors, but some may be suboptimal. If you have selected marking in your project on one of these wires you will receive a warning. It is also recommended to view the wire marking sample table below.

YourSpec's high-quality, automated rotary strippers precisley grip and spin around wire with blades to remove the insulation while avoiding contact with the conductor.
Our wire strippers are calibrated to avoid grip marks wherever possible but some wire may show small grip marks near the end of the wire.

YourSpec's rotary wire strippers have conductor contact detection enabled to detect if the blade touches the wire. All wire that is touched by a blade is discarded.

YourSpec allows you to set the strip parameters of the outer cable as well as the inner conductors.
A minimum difference of 5mm between the outer strip length and inner strip length is enforced to ensure our equipment can process your project.
If shielding is present it will be mechanically debraided and twisted.

• Strip length: Length of insulation removed from wire.
• Strip tail: The remove insulation is referred to as the strip tail. The strip tail is purposely left on the end of the conductors to protect them from fraying. The strip tail can easily be removed with a light pull.

• If using a pin, the strip length will be processed accordingly to the recommended strip length from the manufacturer.

YourSpec will use quality hand tools to crimp your connectors if requested.
We will soon be upgrading to tools which can monitor crimp force to ensure we are crimping exactly to manufacturer specifications. Stay tuned!
